I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I have
had a couple great trips the last few days. Mostly winter time type
fishing, jacks, bluefish, spanish, and some snook mixed in. There are
more pictures posted on

Well it is Thanksgiving and I am getting ready to
stuff my face with turkey and pie, but I thought I would take a
minute to update this page first. The bottom line is we all have
something to be thankful for. I am thankful for my family, it is
hard to believe that my baby Gage is going to be 4 in about a week.
I am also thankful that I can make a living doing something that I
love so much, and that I have clients like yourself to make it
possible. So Happy Thanksgiving to all.
On the fishing front I have not had many charters
lately but I did on Tuesday with Art McEvoy and his father in law
Bob. We managed to get out on the beach and we caught some spanish
mackerel, but the best part of the day was what we came across out
there. First we came across a school of tarpon, big tarpon, I know
it is November? I was as surprised as you are, and Art did manage a
fly or two in front of them but they were in no mood to eat, the
water temperature was 65 degrees? So after giving up on them I went
back on the hunt for more macks when I came across a sunfish, a very
rare fish to see, especially in 15 feet of water. If you do not know what one is Google it and you will be amazed. A very cool
sight. On I went down the beach when I checked a couple of buoys and
sure enough a nice triple tail was hanging out, again Art threw his
fly at the fish and got a couple follows but no takers. So we
decided to end the day in the river were both of the guys managed
their first snook. Yesterday I fished with my friend Jason and his
brother, we got into a good bluefish bite on both fly and plugs, and
Jason's brother Jared managed a nice grouper on a Mirrolure. I still
have plenty of openings around the holidays so let's get out and
fish.
The new website and the shirts are still being
worked on, so stay tuned. Also I have been invited to be a
contributor to
Salty Shores it is a website that is focused around fishing and
photography. If you enjoy fishing and photography you will want to
check it out. I will just post some thoughts and photos there.
Stuart Flyfishing update
I would like to let you in on a few things. First, I
am announcing that I reduced my rates. This is a direct reflection
of the fuel prices, as many of you remember in April of 2008 I was
forced to raise my rates due to gas being over $4.00. My rates are
now back to the price prior to April. Half day is $350, a 3/4 day is
$450, and the full day remains the same at $600. These are the same
rates I had from April 2006 to April 2008, let's hope fuel cost stay
down especially once I start running the beach again in February,
for the giant jacks.
In other news this website will soon get a face
lift, believe it or not this site is almost 9 years old. The new
look will include some of my most recent photography and a new logo.
It will be a new look with more useful content and a few exciting new twists and turns. The new logo was
designed by Rob McAbee, he is an extremely creative graphic
designer,
www.nomaddesignco.com. Also, you need to check out his fly fishing
apparel
at www.bugslinger.com.
These t-shirt designs are long over due, artistic designs with a
edgy flare that truly represent a new age of flyfishing, whether in
saltwater or on a tailwater. Flyfishing has definitely become a
sport for all ages. I
just received my Bug slinger order and I am overly impressed with how
comfortable his shirts are, and the hat is a high quality flex fit.
Not to mention the killer graphics. I can assure you that any fly
fisherman would love a Bug slinger t-shirt or two under the tree. My new Stuart Fly Fishing shirts
and hats will be available soon.

I would also like to update you guys on a new fly
rod that I have been using. Many of you are familiar with
Crowder Rods
for their excellent line of light tackle and offshore rods, but now
Crowder has introduced his first line of 4 piece fly rods. Robbie
Crowder has been building rods for decades now and believe me he
knows what he is doing. He combined the perfect casting blank with
titanium components that won't corrode. Many of you remember when I
switched from Sage to G-Loomis for my fly rods, and my only
complaint with Sage was the durability, mainly the guides corroding
in saltwater. I won't go into how I was told from someone at Sage
that I don't care properly for my rods. So I switched to G-Loomis a
couple of years ago, and they make quality rods with titanium
components and I still have many Loomis rods. When Robbie Crowder
asked my opinion about fly rods here was my response, "Build a rod
that casts like a Sage, has quality components like the Loomis, with
a lifetime guarantee and is cheaper then both and I think you will
be on to something." He delivered, a 4 piece rod that is an
excellent casting rod with titanium components, a lifetime
guarantee, and all for $350.00! If you are interested in buying one
or casting one just let me know.
My last bit of news, at least for today. I would
love for all of you to check out my new photography page at,
